Shannon Hall

The Perfect Home

As a young church plant, CityWave is blessed to meet in an actual church building! In case you missed it, it’s Shannon Hall in Batavia in the west suburbs of Chicago. Shannon Hall is a stunningly gorgeous building, and what makes it even better is its rich history.

Shannon Hall is the original Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia and was built in 1897. In 1994, the church building became owned by the Batavia Parks District through a successful community effort. With some modern restoration, they kept its original sacred beauty but transformed it into a modern community space. It is even on the National Register of Historic Places.

Beautiful, historic, sacred, close to the river, downtown Batavia…what more could you ask for! Come and check out this wonderful place we use for CityWave Church. We would love to host you for one of our Sunday gatherings. Perhaps you will find the space, and more importantly our community of people, to be the spiritual home you’ve been looking for.

Location Tips

When you come, we want your visit to be as easy as possible for you, so please take a look at these location tips.

  1. Take Wilson St into the downtown area of Batavia. Shannon Hall is located at the intersection of Willson St and Van Buren St.
  2. We have a brand new parking lot! It’s on the east side of the building, accessed on Van Buren or Prairie streets adjoining the building.
  3. Upon arrival, parents with children for CityWave Kids may enter at the Eastside Community Center office – just look for the sign!
  4. Everyone else may enter there as well or follow the sidewalk to the front door of the church building.
